SUTHERLAND FALLS - PROCTOR, VERMONT

The enormous Sutherland Falls and the pool below in Proctor.

Description: Sutherland Falls is a very large waterfall on Otter Creek.  Its supply is heavily diverted for hydroelectric use, but it is still a beautiful sight.  It is roughly 100' tall, and in very high water, an extremely wide waterfall, in addition to its immense height.  The fall is not isolated, as seen below, but does have a nice pool and beautifully folded rocks around it.  This is one of the largest falls in Vermont, and should definitely be visited on any trip to the western part of central Vermont.
