VERMONT WATERFALLS
WEST HILL BROOK FALLS - MONTGOMERY, VERMONT |
|
West Hill Brook Falls from the side of the gorge, showing the cascades and plunges.
Description: This fall is not remote, as you can see from the foundation of the house that sits on the bank, but it is quite an interesting location. Upstream their are some small gorges and falls. The main falls are a nice small cascade and plunge of about 20'. From there, the brook carves into a very deep gorge before continuing out of sight. It is a neat place to climb around as you can go to the base of the falls, and check it out from above and from the adjacent cliff. One of many nice fall areas in Montgomery, Vermont. This fall is downstream from Crystal Falls, and I believe it is just upstream of the well-known hippie hole falls.
A view from the brook above the falls showing the gorge below. Anybody see the pig's face to the right?
A view from the cliff adjacent to the falls, showing the brook upstream.
Upstream of the falls there is some nice small gorges and falls. Amazing geology!
