VERMONT WATERFALLS
DEEP GIBOU FALLS - MONTGOMERY, VERMONT |
|
Description: Deep Gibou Falls is one of the most scenic waterfalls in the state for a variety of reasons. First, it is a tall waterfall, measuring about 80' from the top cascades to the bottom slides. The series begins with a split of two cascades leading to an upper pool. Then the brook goes down two plunges for about 30', followed by a final slide of 25' to a large bottom pool. In addition, it is in a beautiful mossy gorge, with huge quantities of iron staining on the bedrock. This is a beautiful, isolated waterfall that is easily the top waterfall in Franklin County, and a must visit if you are in northwest Vermont.
