VERMONT WATERFALLS
SWEET HOLLOW FALLS - FAIRFIELD, VERMONT |
|
The twin falls leading down to the stream.
Description: This fall is not a powerhouse, but it is quite scenic. A tributary of the Missisquoi river tumbles over a bedrock ledge, leading to three side by side falls at the site. It is a unique place to visit, as the rocks are covered in moss, and it is a serene setting. The falls are quite safe to be around, and in the winter they freeze over completely, creating a sheet of ice. Sweet Hollow was attributed to the falls due to the name of the road that these falls sit beside.
The three falls in the series, however, the left fall is still frozen at this point.
